We are very excited that the wonderful textile artist Amandine Brun Sauvant (@atelier.brunsauvant) will be working with us on Common Ground Belgium. Amandine specialises in making textiles with vegetable dyes. The pieces in the photos explore variations between iron and alumina which she uses to fix the colour and achieve different shades from a single plant. For Common Ground Belgium, Amandine will make table linens and colour them using local plants. She will explore how our collected clay samples can be used to fix the colour and how the proportions of iron and alumina in the clay can impact the colour according to its proportions.
